This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the environmental field while working with a team of experienced scientists and engineers. This position offers room for advancement within the practice area and within the company.
The Environmental Scientist will work with project managers and clients to provide support primarily in our Environmental Assessment and Remediation practice area; with opportunities to also provide support in our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Regulatory Compliance and Civil Engineering and Permitting practice areas. The successful candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be a team player, have the ability to follow up in a timely manner, and meet deadlines.
Job Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in a related field
- Prior experience in soil and groundwater sampling preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental sciences or other science related field
- Strong critical thinking, technical writing, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated, action-oriented, and strong interpersonal skills
- Quality and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in current versions of MS Office
- Valid US Driver’s License
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to:
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time, walk (at times over uneven surfaces), reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and/or clothing (e.g. steel-toed boots) is routinely required
- Lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds at times
- Work in environments ranging from office to industrial indoor settings, to outdoors in all weather conditions and terrain
